Meet Me By The River
YOUR FAMILY’S PHOTOGRAPHS CAPTURED BEAUTIFULLY

YOUR FAMILY’S MEMORIES DESERVE TO BE CAPTURED BEAUTIFULLY
A storytelling experience focused on tender connection & candid moments
Is this for you?
This experience is for the families who want their photographs to feel like them. Not stiff. Not overly posed. Not everyone standing in a line looking at the camera.
Instead, we'll spend our time moving, playing, exploring, and simply being together.
I'll guide you throughout the session with prompts that create genuine moments between you. I might ask Dad to chase your little one through the field, catch them from behind, and lift them high into the air. I might have you hold hands and walk through the grass together, or ask your kids to run ahead while you follow behind.
And then I'll let things unfold.
Because sometimes the most beautiful photograph happens in the few seconds after the prompt.
The laugh that wasn't planned. The little hand reaching for yours. The way your child runs back into your arms. The way you look at each other when you think nobody is watching.
These sessions are for families who are willing to slow down and give those moments the time and space to happen. You don't need to know how to pose. Your kids don't need to sit still. You don't need to be perfect.
You just need to be willing to be present with each other.
If you're looking for photographs that tell the story of your family—not just what you looked like on one evening, but what it felt like to be together—then I think you're exactly where you're supposed to be.
Meet Your Photographer & Personal Storyteller…
I’LL GUIDE YOU EVERY STEP OF THE WAY
I'm Laura, the photographer behind lens.
I'm a storyteller at heart, and that's what I believe photography should be too.
I don't want to simply photograph what your family looks like. I want to photograph what it feels like to be your family.
My approach is relaxed, intentional, and a little bit playful. I'll guide you when you need direction, give you prompts that create genuine interaction, and then step back when something beautiful starts happening on its own.
I’M MORE ABOUT CAPTURING HOW IT FEELS, NOT JUST HOW IT LOOKS
I'm drawn to photographs that feel timeless and honest—images that could belong to a different decade and still make you feel something.
So if you're looking for perfectly posed photographs where everyone has to behave and smile on command, I may not be your girl.
But if you're looking for someone who will slow things down, get your family moving, let your kids be kids, and create photographs that feel like your family and this season of your life...
I'd love to tell your story.
The Location
15 mins from Canora SK
Nestled along the White Sand River, this location gives us so much to work with. Wildflowers, open fields, golden grain fields, beautiful trees, and an architectural bridge all come together to create a setting that feels natural, expansive, and completely Saskatchewan. Only 15 minutes away from Canora Sk, this location is deep in the heart of Eastern Saskatchewan.
The variety of the landscape allows us to move throughout the session rather than staying in one spot. We can wander through the wildflowers, let the kids run through the open fields, take a quiet walk beneath the trees, or use the bridge as a more structured architectural backdrop.
Each part of the location brings something different to your photographs. The open fields create movement and space. The golden grain adds warmth and that unmistakable Saskatchewan feeling. The trees give us shade and intimacy, while the river and wildflowers bring softer, more organic moments into the story.
Because we can move through different areas, your gallery feels like more than one backdrop. It becomes a collection of moments from an evening spent together—each setting adding something different to the story of your family.
One of my favourite things about this location is just how much variety we have to work with. With the river, wildflowers, open fields, golden grain, trees, and the architectural bridge, we can create so many different looks within one session.
This means no two sessions have to look the same. Each family can experience the location in a way that feels completely unique to them.
I want you to have a say in how your session feels. If there is a certain setting you're drawn to, a vision you've been dreaming about, or a particular feeling you want your photographs to have, I want to hear about it.
Tell me what you're envisioning, what you love, and what feels like you. I genuinely love hearing my clients' ideas and desires, and I want to build your session around your preferences rather than giving every family the exact same experience.
Your session should feel like your family—not a copy of someone else's.
