A Christmas to Remember | Vintage Christmas Mini Sessions 2026

I love photographs that feel a little moody, a little magical, and full of character. So, naturally, I wanted to bring all of that into this year's Christmas mini sessions.

For this year's setup, I wanted to create something that felt less like a traditional Christmas backdrop and more like stepping into a little piece of Christmas past.

I started with a deep, moody backdrop and built everything around it. The Christmas trees, vintage-inspired ornaments, wooden details, warm textures, and little touches of greenery all came together to create that old-world Christmas feeling I was after. I paid just as much attention to the smaller details as I did the overall setup because I wanted there to be something interesting to discover in every corner.

One of my favourite parts was incorporating toys and little pieces of childhood into the scene. The wooden rocking horse, the miniature telephone booth, and the little Christmas details weren't just there to decorate the space. I wanted them to become part of the storytelling. Something for little hands to explore, something for children to play with, and little moments that could unfold naturally while I'm photographing them.

And that's really what I want these sessions to be about.

I don't want families to feel like they have to come in, sit perfectly still, smile at the camera, and leave with a handful of posed Christmas portraits. Of course, we'll get some beautiful photographs of everyone together, but I also want to give your children room to play, explore, and enjoy the experience.

These sessions are especially wonderful for families who love a little nostalgia and want their children to experience a different side of Christmas. Something timeless. Something that feels a little like the Christmas photographs our grandparents might have tucked away in an old album.

You can dress your little ones in their favourite Christmas outfits, let them explore the toys, and enjoy a little time together. I'll guide you along the way, but I also want to leave room for the unexpected smiles, curious little expressions, and moments that happen when children are simply being children.

I think there's something really special about creating photographs that don't just show what your family looked like at Christmas, but bring back a little of what it felt like to be there.
